Performs housekeeping and minor maintenance duties to provide a healthy and sanitary building for educational purposes. This is a 25-hour per week position.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Work usually requires one (1) to three (3) months work experience in housekeeping. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Cleans IPS buildings by performing such duties as sweeping and dusting rooms and hallways; washing furniture, floors, walls; scrubbing and waxing floor and shampooing carpets; picking up litter and trash; and cleaning restrooms. Maintains appearance and safety of IPS grounds by performing such duties as sweeping debris and shoveling snow from sidewalks; cutting the grass; trimming trees and shrubs; watering plants. Performs minor maintenance to IPS facilities such as changing or cleaning lights; replacing vacuum cleaner belts; unstopping toilets and water fountains; resetting clocks after power failures. Maintains and cares for assigned work equipment and work areas. Loads or unloads supplies equipment and moves furniture, as required. Shovels snow; lifts and moves furniture; mops floors; and operates floor buffer / polishers. Performs other related cleaning or minor maintenance duties as assigned
