Assist specific grade level students as scheduled and agreed upon by the aforementioned parties.
Maintain discipline and order during the class period.
Care for and maintain all equipment and supplies to assist with instruction.
Make arrangements with the principal should it become necessary to leave during school hours. The RLCC must notify, or have someone notify, the Principal at least one(1) hour before starting of his/her inability for any cause to meet his/her class.
No personal or sick days will be awarded for this position.
Any standards and guidelines, which are in effect for other instructors at VSE, shall apply to said RLCC.
Make every effort to increase student reading fluency.
Create daily lesson plans that keep students engaged in reading activities.
Collect student data and guide student instruction.
Incorporate current computer resources available at VSE (including but not restricted to Myon Reader, Reading Eggs, and Study Island).
Record data that shows proof of student progress. This data will be tracked using Myon Lexile level tracking, conducting weekly Fluency reads, and maintain a current DRA reading level for each student. The goal is for these students to show great growth in their reading performance. Tracking is a must.
Bimonthly reports will be submitted to the Principal on the 1st and 15th of each month for review.
Create and maintain individual notebooks containing student data.
