Qualifications
Candidate must be committed to continuous improvement with the fundamental goal of advancing student achievement in an urban public school district. In addition, we are seeking candidates with the following educational and experiential requirements and knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education

- Principal or Curriculum Supervisory certification.

- Experience creating and implementing lessons that lead to demonstrated student learning and growth

- Evidence of being able to design and deliver effective professional development sessions to teachers and staff

- Experience analyzing formative and summative assessment data, identifying data trends to inform training and support, and using data to develop instructional strategies to meet student needs

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective peer-to-peer relationships

- Demonstrated professionalism and excellent oral and written communication skills

- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and knowledge of adult learning theory to influence adult practice

- Evidence of working constructively with teachers, principal(s), and other school staff

- Experience analyzing, developing, implementing, and evaluating school action plans

- Experience writing curriculum including scope and sequence, curriculum guides or road-maps

Essential Job Functions
Provide formative coaching and differentiated support for teachers and instructional coaches to help grow instructional practice

Develop detailed action plans that support content area strategies and implementation steps outlined in the School Improvement Plan for each individual school supported by the School Transformation Department

Analyze student work, assessment results, and other data sources to ensure aligned content support focused on student achievement

Provide small and large group professional learning, based on the assessed needs of teachers and instructional coaches

Develop and lead professional development sessions on district wide PD days

Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers and instructional coaches based on district supported best practices, curriculum, and interventions

Serve as a content specialist to assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align to district goals, curriculum, and PA Core Standards

Participate in district-wide professional growth opportunities with the expectation of utilizing and presenting content to relevant school staff

Assist school leadership in developing and implementing a school wide professional development plan

Develop a structure for teachers and instructional coaches to engage in differentiated professional learning communities

Implement progress monitoring, ensuring that timelines are met and data is analyzed and used to inform instruction

Assist in facilitating a continuous improvement model by analyzing data, using data to impact instructional practice, and creating a cycle to monitor and adjust student achievement and teacher practice

Remain knowledgeable about current research in the areas of content, general teaching practices, and adult learning

Write curriculum, including unit roadmaps, sample lesson plans, and other instructional support documents, as needed

Collaborate with all members of the School Transformation Department to ensure consistent, focused, and aligned support for schools

Work collaboratively with members of the Curriculum and Instruction team
