Instructs pupils in visual arts in media such as: drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, digital design, art history, art criticism, and sculpting.
Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
Valid Indiana Teacher's License in Art.
Proficient in word processing and student menu software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares lesson plans and selects art supplies according to District Pacing Guides and State Standards and budget.
Observes and evaluates students' work to assess progress toward mastery. Also implements instructional plans for individual student improvement.
Maintains an orderly classroom conducive to creativity and learning. This includes organizational procedures for students, which is inclusive of individual portfolios, art word walls, and art history notebooks.
Contacts parents concerning student academic progress, discipline concerns, and offers learning opportunities for parents.
Participates in District and City student art contests and is responsible for displaying student art in the school, Central Office, and community.
Makes accommodations, as required, for students with disabilities.
Pursues training and development opportunities.
